Start Robotics Classes as an after school program to schools and learners who are interested in supplementing what they learn at school in your area, with the STEM education system. The aim is to instill an interest in STEM from a young age, cultivating interest, which will ultimately contribute to the building and strengthening of a solid foundation in these subjects, as these children get older and start considering careers.

Robotics provides a supplement to the traditional learning environment, allowing students to have fun in a free environment while developing cross-disciplinary skills at the same time.

Enrichment outside the classroom is important

Schools are often very limited in terms of resources, this along with large student numbers per class, can make it challenging to focus on the quality of performance in the classroom, and proper measurement thereof.

This is where we believe our after school program comes into play. We have the time to inspire, challenge, and support students as they discover their true capabilities. Although robot assembly is used to capture students’ initial interest, it’s not our primary focus. Instead, we strive to focus on how they learn and apply the scientific principles in their projects.

A student’s creativity is important, being creative forces the student to exercise their minds, allowing them to see through experience, what they are capable of. This strategy is both motivating and builds confidence.

Who said learning can’t be fun?

Teaching a child something that is not interesting can prove very difficult for both the teacher and student. Robotics classes encourages students to have fun; this makes learning that much easier while increasing motivation.

There’s no better way to spend time with children and delve into the fascinating worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math than with robots!

The benefits of group learning

When learning happens horizontally (student to student) instead of vertically (between teacher and student), the process of learning becomes more dynamic.

Interaction is key in any learning environment because creativity flows when people interact with one another. Group learning embodies the characteristics of the human mind, which is diverse, dynamic and distinctive, where a number of things are learned out of the interaction itself, not just the subject being taught. Some advantages of group learning include:

  • Group learning focuses on mutuality and collaboration. Students will have the chance to gain positive self-realisation, the ability to interact with others, leadership skills and communication skills.
  • Students won’t only be learning science. They will also have the opportunity to gain insight into the minds of humans through mutual interaction. Sometimes, you need to be surrounded by people in order to learn various skills.
  • This learning process increases problem-solving skills. For example, if after students have put together their project and it does not operate as expected, they will be required to study the situation and solve the problem.

This approach is more beneficial than asking the teacher for an immediate solution. Students can either figure out a solution on their own or with a peer, making problem-solving fun, challenging and enjoyable.

What are our goals?

We don’t want to replace school and all its fundamental teachings, but we do want to create experiences that will motivate students to learn more. We want to help them realise that there is so much more out there and that there are many different ways of approaching a situation. We want to enrich and enhance that which students already know.
